Carmel is a clinical social worker (LICSW – Massachusetts; LCSW – Texas – inactive) with a focus on healing from identity-based trauma: times that people have been hurt because of who they are or who they are perceived to be. Carmel integrates experiential activities with talk therapy in order to help regain a sense of both physical and emotional wellness. She is trained in EMDR and also uses somatic approaches, relational, and insight-focused therapy.
Carmel works extensively with immigrant and LGBTQ+ clients and serves as an expert witness in immigration cases. She is also trained in clinical supervision and was a Board Approved Supervisor in Texas. She is currently available for clinical supervision in Massachusetts.
Carmel sees clients in person (in Stoughton) or online. You can check whether she is taking new clients or has a waitlist on her Psychology Today profile.
